Industry awareness of FIDVR, though it was not always referred to by this name, dates to technical papers that have appeared in the literature since the 1990s. These culminate with the preparation of a technical reference paper by the NERC Transmission Issues Subcommittee (TIS) and System Protection and Control Subcommittee.
