The Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions (CERTS) was formed in 1999 to research, develop, and disseminate new methods, tools, and technologies to protect and enhance the reliability of the U.S. electric power system and the efficiency of competitive electricity markets. The founding members of CERTS include Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL); Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL); Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL); Sandia National Laboratories; the National Science Foundation Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSERC); and the Electric Power Group (EPG).
