An Introduction to High Voltage dc Networks

This report is planned as the first of several that will examine the technology of High Voltage dc systems. It is intended to explore the impacts (particularly the problems to be solved as well as the advantages) of application of the technology of HVdc. Our target audience includes the regulators and planners of the power industry, those whose decisions depend on understanding the implications of such new technology, and who can influence the development and implementation.
