System Security Tools

Research, development, and demonstration of alternative frameworks for system security management, which today consists of numerous software tools (some off-line and some on-line) that predict system conditions in response to proposed contingencies, to integrate these tools into a comprehensive package that can respond effectively to changing conditions, simultaneous transactions, and new reliability models. Key activities include research, development, and demonstration of 1) integrated security analysis infrastructures responsive to the changing conditions and increased rate and number of transactions that are part of a competitive market; 2) alternate methods to address the impact of unanticipated flows and predict their impacts on system security and reliability; and 3) real-time security control for the future.
